Accessibility Statement

1. Standard We Follow

We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), are the international standard for accessible web content. They cover things like:

• Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
• Text that can be resized without breaking layout.
• Keyboard navigability — every interactive element usable without a mouse.
• Meaningful alt text on all informational images.
• Semantic HTML structure so screen readers can navigate.
• Clear form labels and error messages.
• Descriptive link text.

2. What We've Done

We've built the strainguard.com website with accessibility in mind from Day 1:

• Semantic HTML tags throughout (headings, lists, buttons, forms).
• Descriptive alt attributes on informational images.
• Keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements.
• Color contrast ratios meeting or exceeding WCAG AA (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
• Responsive layout that works at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
• ARIA labels on icon-only links (social media, navigation).
• Video content (when present) with a clear title and, once produced, captions.

3. Known Limitations

We're honest about what we haven't finished yet:

• Video captions — our install video (coming August 2026) will include captions from launch. Any legacy video before that milestone may not yet have captions.
• Third-party embeds — the Stripe checkout iframe, YouTube video embeds, and other embedded content are subject to those providers' accessibility standards, not ours. We work with providers who prioritize accessibility.
• PDF documents — if we ever publish downloadable PDFs (spec sheets, install guides), we commit to using tagged, accessible PDF format.
• Product photos — real product photography is coming after our August 2026 mold run. Once available, all product images will have complete alt-text descriptions.

4. Testing & Continuous Improvement

We test the site regularly using:

• Automated tools (Lighthouse, axe DevTools) on every major change.
• Keyboard-only navigation walkthroughs.
• Screen reader spot-checks (VoiceOver on macOS, NVDA on Windows).
• Real user feedback (please — see below).

Accessibility isn't a one-time audit. Every time we add a page or feature, we run it through the same checks.

5. If Something Doesn't Work For You

If you encounter any part of our website that's hard to use — whether you use assistive technology or not — please tell us. We take these reports seriously and prioritize fixes.

The most helpful information you can share (if you have it):

• The page URL where you had trouble.
• A short description of what happened.
• The device, browser, and assistive technology you're using (if any).

Email us at accessibility@strainguard.com. We'll respond within 2 business days and commit to fixing critical issues within 10 business days when technically feasible.

7. Formal Compliance

Strain Guard LLC is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to our online commerce activities. We view accessibility as an ongoing commitment, not a fixed target, and we review this Statement periodically as guidelines and our site evolve.
